BORN FROM A LOCKDOWN. BUILT FOR A GENERATION.
Posha Crunch began in December 2020, when founder Andrea Alex found herself unable to source rusks and biscuits for her baby boy. Imported products had vanished from shelves overnight. So she did what any resourceful mother would. She baked her own.
What started as a kitchen experiment quickly became something much bigger. Using traditional Sri Lankan ingredients, local baby cereals, and a deep commitment to clean nutrition, Andrea created snacks she was proud to give her son. Word spread fast among fellow parents who were asking the same question: why is it so hard to find genuinely healthy, locally made snacks for our children?
Within weeks, Posha Crunch was born.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Every Posha Crunch product is made with a simple promise: no refined sugar, no artificial flavours or colours, no preservatives, no trans fats. Only real, wholesome ingredients, sourced from local Sri Lankan farmers and producers who share our values.
Our snacks are designed with the youngest eaters in mind, soft enough to prevent choking, easy for little hands to hold, and built around Baby-Led Weaning principles that encourage independence and curiosity at mealtimes. From our signature cereal cookies to our vegetable breadsticks and rice-based snack range, every product is tried, tested, and approved by the toughest critics we know: children.
GROWING WITH PURPOSE
In 2023 October, Posha Crunch was selected as one of six companies for the GLX Road to Regen Accelerator Programme, a highly competitive initiative co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, implemented by GIZ Sri Lanka. Of nearly 100 applicants, Posha Crunch was chosen for its commitment to sustainable, regenerative business practices.
The programme deepened our work in three areas we care deeply about:
Ethical sourcing — we work directly with local small-scale farmers and organic producers, ensuring full traceability from farm to production and supporting livelihoods throughout our supply chain.
Product innovation — through the programme, we developed an organic range built around traditional Sri Lankan ingredients, including Suwandel rice, a heritage grain prized for its low-GI properties. Our expanding snack range is gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free, and vegan, inclusive by design.
International market readiness — working with GLX’s international market access experts, we began adapting our products and packaging for global export markets, particularly in the health food and organic segments.
A mama with the “not so simple” task of trying to find the best food for my dear boy and sharing it with fellow moms also hoping to find the same. Facing the real struggle of sourcing the best and clean food for my boy remains the inspiration for these Posha Crunch goodies. Baking has always been a hobby of mine so I took the lockdown to experiment with biscuit recipes my baby loved what was offered, so I continued to make most of his snacks at home. Understanding that this had to be an equally pressing issue for other parents was the “AH HA” moment that ignited Posha Crunch. From the basic cereal cookies, our range has extended its flavours – all tried and tested by my boy.
I am absolutely thrilled by the positive feedback from my little customers across the country and happy to see how well the Posha Crunch brand has grown. My vision is to continue to create new and exciting healthy snack options for our little ones that are not merely about snacking but rather a positive experience of growth in your child’s weaning journey!

FROM HOME KITCHEN TO NATIONAL SHELVES
Today, Posha Crunch products are available at Keells Super and Cargills Food City nationwide, and we are the designated healthy snack for children at Lanka Hospital and Nawaloka Hospital, a responsibility we take seriously.
Behind the retail shelves is a production story equally worth telling. Our Moratuwa facility operates as a professional contract manufacturer to some of Sri Lanka’s most demanding food brands, including Finagle Lanka, Sri Lanka’s largest industrial baker and a multi-ISO and FSSC 22000 certified food company. We manufacture a wide range of products under the Finagle and Ran Ovens brands, from Swiss Rolls and Butter Rusks to Bread Sticks, Croutons, and dessert lines, at commercial scale, to international quality standards, week in and week out.
Our facility also produces speciality and promotional runs for global QSR brands supplied through Finagle, including custom-themed cookies for Burger King Sri Lanka campaigns and Chocolate Chip Cookies for Subway Sri Lanka.
The same kitchen discipline that Andrea brought to her first batch of Posha Cookies in 2020 — clean ingredients, uncompromising standards, genuine care — now underpins a commercial operation trusted by Sri Lanka’s most recognised food names.
WHERE WE’RE HEADED
From a Baby Belling oven’s worth of cookies to a nationally distributed brand and a trusted manufacturing partner to Sri Lanka’s finest food companies — Posha Crunch has always grown by staying true to what started it all: real ingredients, genuine care, and a belief that our children deserve better.
We’re just getting started.
